Note that the K.V.B. (Katholieke Voetbal Bond) was founded in August 1924 (less than a year
before their visit to Georgetown) and was renamed N.G.V.B. (Nederlandsch Guyana Voetbal Bond)
at the start of 1930. It was one of two rival football federations in Paramaribo; the S.V.B.
(Surinaamsche Voetbal Bond) was founded in October 1920 and obtained F.I.F.A. membership in
May 1929.
Like the N.G.V.B., neither the B.G.F.A. nor the T.A.F.A. from Trinidad, joint entrants in a
Triangular Intercolonial Tournament in the spring of 1938, were F.I.F.A.
members, though both were affiliated with the English F.A.
Between 1932 and 1938 the N.G.V.B. and B.G.F.A. also met annually to play in the Amo Amateur Cup Competition, which was also contested twice in 1948.

The cup was offered by E.M. Walcott after the match on 19 May, "to foster friendship
between the two colonies. And perpetual playing for the cup would strengthen more and
more the bonds of friendship."
Originally the first test match was to be played on 20 May but it was moved forward
by one day because of a boxing match; the second test match was moved from 22 to 23
May; because of that a match scheduled for 23 May against club side Artillery S.C.
was cancelled.
The K.V.B. side was also referred to as "Olympia" in the Surinam newspapers; Olympia
were the strongest member club of the federation; at the time they were the reigning
champions of both the S.V.B. (1923/24 season; Olympia left that federation at the end
of that season) and the K.V.B. (whose 1925 season had finished on 10 May, whereas the
1925 season of the S.V.B. started on 24 May). However, the K.V.B. selection included
players from other clubs (e.g. league runners-up Paramaribo).

Originally it had been agreed the B.G.F.A. would visit Paramaribo in August 1926 to
defend the Walcott Cup; however, citing financial problems because of another trip,
to Trinidad, where the B.G.F.A. had to contest the Martinez Shield in November 1926,
the Demerara federation did not send a team.
Two other Demerara sides visited Paramaribo as guests of the K.V.B. in August 1925
("Team Mc Lean") and August 1926 ("Team L.S. Davis", mainly consisting of players
