British Guiana Combined trip to Paramaribo 1947

The visiting team were a selection from G.F.C., Charlton, and S.E. Moore's touring team, while the official B.G.F.A. side contested the Standard Life Trophy 1947 in Trinidad. The B.G.F.A. had given permission for this visit in order to renew relations with the N.G.V.B., the catholic football federation of Surinam which had been refounded in the summer of 1947 and with whom the B.G.F.A. had contested the Amo Amateur and Walcott Cups before World War II. The official B.G.F.A. side had played the S.V.B. (official F.I.F.A. members for Surinam) for the Brown Betty Cup two months before but that series had ended on bad terms.
NB: all matches played at the N.G.V.B. Sportterrein, Paramaribo;
    the two "Test" matches against the N.G.V.B. were played for two trophies,
    a cup offered by the N.G.V.B. and a silver cup provided by the book and
    music store "Henriquez" on Curaçao, which were both handed to N.G.V.B.
