Between 1919 and 1932 (when a professional league was formed) top level football in France consisted out of up to 15 regional championships (called Division d'Honneur). Below the regional champions (as far as known) of this period are listed. Note that only in the last few years the winners of these regional championships played off in a national tournament, the Division d'Excellence of the CFA in 1926/27, 1927/28 and 1928/29 and the Coupe Sochaux (also called Coupe Peugeot) 1930/31 and 1931/32.
