Chinese Olympic team 1948

The team was representative of ethnic Chinese players throughout 
East Asia, rather than only those based in the Republic of China.  
The majority of the players selected were from Hong Kong, with the 
remainder from Shanghai, Singapore, and Penang (Malaya).

 * Hong Kong's team for the Chinese National Games.

 + this match against the Dutch East Indies (N.I.V.U.) had been scheduled for 24- 6 
   at Deca-Park and a team for the hosts already selected in May but it was cancelled
   two days before the match due to failure to obtain permission from the Chinese
   National Amateur Athletic Federation.
 $ a team of ethnic Chinese players selected from Malaya.
 % a selection of all players in Malaya and Singapore, including British Servicemen.
 ! a selection of ethnic Chinese and Malay players in Singapore.
 @ as the Indian national team was already in England preparing  for the Olympics,
   this India team cannot be considered a full national team. It was selected by
   the IFA rather than the AIFF.
