On August 3, the Minister of Sports, Juma Kapuya, ordered the FA to admit both Bandari and 977 KJ to the playoff, which the FA agreed to at a meeting in Dodoma convened by the Minister. On August 7, Tanzania Breweries Limited, sponsors to the FA, summoned the FA to reverse the decision to extend the playoff to eight team within one week, as the extension is in breach with the sponsor agreement signed earlier in the year, and TBL had not been invited to the Dodoma meeting on August 3 where the decision was taken, and which took place one day after the TBL had paid the 6 qualified teams.
