Surinam 1921

First League Competition

A competition was started at the occasion of the opening of the new
field ("Patronaatssportterrein") near the roman catholic hospital.

The intended format was a double round robin (30 matches in total)
but it was stopped after just four matches when the four "neutral"
clubs (Blauw-Wit, Excelsior, U.D.I. and Voorwaarts) all demanded a
fifteen percent share of the revenue at their matches.

Second League Competition

Three months later, the S.V.B. started a new attempt, but it was aborted
for essentially the same reasons at the beginning of December, when the
S.V.B. board resigned after Blauw-Wit and Voorwaarts had twice refused
to play their match protesting a decrease in financial renumeration.
