National Semi-Professional Football League

NB: created in 1964; in most years, two competitions were contested, one in spring and
one in autumn; teams finishing equal on points were usually not separated resulting
in a fairly large number of shared titles. After the creation of the professional
league in 1983, it continued as a de facto second level league (without promotion or
relegation) until 2002, when an official second level was created.
