1930 In 1930 (other sources: 1931) the Lagos League was formed. Participating teams: Lagos United FC Railway African Amateur Club Diamond FC Public Works Department [PWD] Calabar XI Locomotive Apprentice FC Survey FC Nigeria Marine African Staff Recreation Club Star FC French FC Red Roof FC Oriens FC Posts and Telegraphs FC 1931 Lagos League members included: Railway Africs Police Lagos Town Council Calabar Eleven Harbour Eleven Corinthians UAC CFAO (a French company which fielded an all-European team) Other clubs that entered the new league (in 1931 or soon after): Shell Zik's Athletic Club In later years, the following clubs joined: Rangers Young Arsenal Young Everton European Eleven Muslim Eleven Young Asiatics EB Silver Club Jolly Holiday Makers 1933 Lagos League participants (13): three teams belonging to UAC two owned by Africs Muslims Spadlings Post & Telegraphs Medical & Health Lagos Athletic French Club two teams of Olympic 1938 Participating teams: Marine [new name for Harbour FC] Town Council Posts & Telegraphs Police Gold Coast Everton Rangers Shell Marine 2 UAC 1939 The Lagos League had a senior and a junior section but in 1940 they were combined. 1940 The Lagos League had 13 member clubs: Marine EB Silva Biney's Eleven (1) Biney's Eleven (2) Muslims Railway Police P and T Ekang's Eleven Invincible Public Works Department Gottschalcks Land and Survey All other clubs only played knock-out tournaments such as: Zard Cup, War Memorial Cup, Alakija Cup, Association Cup, League Knock-out Cup 1942 Lagos League Winners: Zik's Athletic Club [aka ZAC Bombers] 1945 The Lagos League had 3 divisions without promotion or relegation between them: Division One Railway Corinthians Marine P and T Zik's Athletic Club Public Works Department Police Lands and Survey Division Two Railway (2) Customs and Exercise Police (2) Base Ordinary Depot Zik's Athletic Club (2) Mariners Muslims Corinthians (2) P and T (2) Public Works Department (2) Division Three A Railway (3) Zik's Athletic Club (3) Premier Club Command Pay Corinthians (3) Medical Army Records Base Workshop RAF Ikeja Division Three B Nigerian Army Signals CTS Railway (4) West African Soap Company Base Ordinary Depot (2) Detail Club Tinkos SVOC
