Malta - List of Champions and Runners-Up

Football was introduced by British service teams; it appears the first ever competitive tournament was the 1899 Soldiers Cup; a league tournament was held in 1903 and won by 1st Battalion, King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment.

There were (and still exist) separate amateur league and cup competitions.
