Libya - List of Champions

A national league championhip exists since 1963, when the champions of the regional leagues played off for the title (previously, regional championships (for the eastern (Cyrenaica), western (Tripolitania) and southern regions) were organised without a national playoff). The first regional championships were held in 1918.

Prior to the establishment of the national league, Al-Ittihad won the Tripolitania title on 13 occasions: 1948/49, 1949/50, 1950/51, 1951/52, 1952/53, 1953/54, 1954/55, 1955/56, 1956/57, 1957/58, 1958/59, 1961/62, 1962/63, thus only missing out in 1959/60 and 1960/61.
