Zambia - List of Women Champions

The first women's league was founded in January 1984. The teams came mostly from Copperbelt towns: Luanshya, Mufulira (Mufulira Flying Queens), Kitwe (Kitwe Flying Angels), Ndola, Kalulushi, Chililabombwe (Konkola Blades) and Chingola.
Apart from the league, women's teams also competed in the "Timothy Kankasa Memorial Tournament".
A national league recognised and supported by the FAZ was introduced in 1999, dominated in the early years by Kabwata EDUSPORT United. It apparently was discontinued after a few seasons; between 2005 and 2007 the top-4 clubs of the Lusaka League contested the "Zambia Women Football Championship Cup".

NB: Kitwe Flying Angels reportedly were champions for five years in succession between
    1985 and 1989; this presumably refers to the Copperbelt League.
