World Championship in 1887


In August 1887 a match was played in Edinburgh a match between the Scottish Cup-holders, Hibernian FC, and the best English team, Preston North End, known as the "Invincibles", to decide the "Championship of the United Kingdom". The game was known also as "Championship of the World".
Played at Hibernian Park, Easter Road, Edinburgh.
