There are two de facto first level women's leagues in the United States: the 
W-League and the WPSL.

W-League 2005

[1] If teams are tied after 90 minutes, two 10-minute overtime periods

[4] The top team in the Eastern Conference, the top two remaining
    teams in the Northern Division, and the top four remaining teams
    in the Northeastern Division (after New Jersey and the top
    team in the Conference) will play off for the Eastern
    Conference's W-League semifinal berth.
