At the end of January, Wanathamulla Youth FC were suspended from taking part
in the remaining matches of the Premier League, after one of its players,
Dilan Dhanushka, was found guilty of throwing out an opponent in the team's
match against Negombo Youth FC. The match was played at the Sugathadasa
Stadium in November 2001.
