In October 2021 the Scottish FA decided to upgrade five unofficial matches from the 1967 tour
to Asia, Oceania & Canada to full international status. It made arrangements to present caps
to those players that had not already won a cap in other official games. In order to ensure
the two records remain consistent, these matches remain in the unofficial RSSSF list for the
time being as the Scottish FA does not yet include the games in its online archive of official
international matches. As a consequence, the cumulative number of international appearances
shown after the touring players' names in subsequent official matches do not include the caps
from these five games.
The matches were:
16 May 1967 versus Israel
28 May, 31 May and 3 June 1967 versus Australia
13 June 1967 versus Canada Olympic XI
19 players took part in the Tour (club shown at the time). Only one, John Woodward (Arsenal),
did not play in any of the five matches. The remaining 18 players now have full international appearances.
Six players became full internationalists for the first time:- Alan Anderson (Heart of Midlothian) 5 caps: Israel, Australia (1), Australia (2), Australia (3), Canada Olympic.
- Alexander Ferguson (Dunfermline Athletic) 4 caps: Israel, Australia (1), Australia (2), Australia (3).
- Henry Hood (Clyde) 3 caps: Israel, Australia (1), Canada Olympic.
- Henry Thomson (Burnley) 2 caps: Israel, Australia (1).
- Hugh Tinney (Bury) 2 caps: Australia (3), Canada Olympic.
- James Townsend (Heart of Midlothian) 4 caps: Australia (1), Australia (2), Australia (3), Canada Olympic.
Twelve players, who either had already played or went on to play for Scotland at Full International level,
will now have games added to their total:- Douglas Fraser (West Bromwich Albion) + 5 caps: Israel, Australia (1), Australia (2), Australia (3), Canada Olympic.
- Robert Hope (West Bromwich Albion) + 5 caps: Israel, Australia (1), Australia (2), Australia (3), Canada Olympic.
- Edmond Colquhoun (West Bromwich Albion) + 2 caps: Israel, Australia (1).
