(Match 72) 23rd February 1901 (18th Home International Championship)
SCOTLAND - IRELAND 11-0 (5-0)
Referee: Richard Thomas Gough (Wales)
Crowd: 15.000, Celtic Park, Glasgow
Goals: 1-0 J.W.Campbell (10), 2-0 J.W.Campbell (12), 3-0 Russell (20), 4-0 J.Campbell (21),
           5-0 McMahon (26), 6-0 Hamilton ("soon after the resumption"), 7-0 McMahon (70),
           8-0 Hamilton (71), 9-0 J.Campbell (84), 10-0 Hamilton (85), 11-0 Hamilton (86)
SCOTLAND:
George Chappell McWattie (1/Queen's Park) -
Nicol Smith (9/Rangers)
Bernard Battles (1/Celtic) -
David Russell (5/Celtic)
George Anderson (1/Kilmarnock)
John Tait Robertson (5/Rangers) -
John William Campbell (4/Rangers)
John Campbell (2) (7/Celtic)
Robert Cumming Hamilton [c] (5/Rangers)
Alexander McMahon (5/Celtic)
Alexander Smith (5/Rangers)

IRELAND:
Samuel McAlpine - William Kennedy Gibson [c], Samuel Torrans - Patrick Farrell,
James Connor, Michael Cochrane - James Edward Scott, James Smith, James Campbell,
Harry O'Reilly, Robert Clarke.

Notes: This 11-0 win was Scotland's record victory of all time.
There is no definitive record of goalscorers for this match and while most
contemporary newspaper reports agree on nine of the eleven goals, there is
significant doubt about the fourth and ninth goals which could be attributed
to Campbell (Celtic) or to McMahon. So, the above list is a "best guess" based
        on the available evidence.
It has been impossible to find the time of the sixth goal. The descriptions
suggest it came early in the second-half. For example, The Scottish Referee
(25th February 1901) writes: "Soon after the resumption Hamilton scored off
        Smith's pass".
The final result might have been 12-0 as Scotland could have scored their
seventh goal from the penalty awarded a few minutes after their sixth, but
        John Robertson's effort went wide.

(Match 73) 2nd March 1901 (18th Home International Championship) WALES - SCOTLAND 1-1 (0-0) Referee: Charles Edward Sutcliffe (England) Crowd: 5.000, The Racecourse Ground, Wrexham Goals: 0-1 Robertson (74), 1-1 Parry (76) WALES: Leigh Richmond Roose - Samuel Meredith, Charles Richard Morris [c] - Maurice Pryce Parry, William James Jones, Edward Hughes - David Henry Pugh, John Owen Jones, Morgan Maddox Morgan-Owen, Thomas David Parry, Ephraim Williams. SCOTLAND: George Chappell McWattie (2/Queen's Park) - Nicol Smith (10/Rangers) Bernard Battles (2/Celtic) - Neil Gibson (13/Rangers) David Russell (6/Celtic) John Tait Robertson [c] (6/Rangers) - Mark Dickson Bell (1/Heart of Midlothian) Robert Staig Walker (3/Heart of Midlothian) Robert Smyth McColl (10/Queen's Park) John Campbell (2) (8/Celtic) Alexander Smith (6/Rangers) Notes: Scotland "appeared in blue-and-white hooped jerseys" as stated in The Scotsman match report (4th March 1901).
(Match 74) 30th March 1901 (18th Home International Championship) ENGLAND - SCOTLAND 2-2 (1-0) Referee: James Torrans (Ireland) Crowd: 18.520, Crystal Palace, London Goals: 1-0 Blackburn (36), 1-1 Campbell (48), 1-2 Hamilton (75), 2-2 Bloomer (80) ENGLAND: John William Sutcliffe - James Iremonger, William John Oakley - Albert Wilkes, Frank Forman, Ernest Needham - Walter Bennett, Stephen Bloomer, Gilbert Oswald Smith [c], Reginald Erskine Foster, Frederick Blackburn. SCOTLAND: Henry George Rennie (3/Hibernian) - Bernard Battles (3/Celtic) John Drummond (10/Rangers) - Andrew Aitken (1/Newcastle United) Alexander Galloway Raisbeck (2/Liverpool) John Tait Robertson [c] (7/Rangers) - Robert Staig Walker (4/Heart of Midlothian) John Campbell (2) (9/Celtic) Robert Smyth McColl (11/Queen's Park) Robert Cumming Hamilton (6/Rangers) Alexander Smith (7/Rangers) Notes: Henry Rennie saved a first-half penalty kick from Ernest Needham. The exact time is not known, but a contemporary match report in The Bradford Observer (1st April 1901) writes: "They [England] should have scored in the first quarter of an hour" and then goes on to describe the saved penalty. Scotland were runners-up. England won the home title.
(Match 75) 1st March 1902 (19th Home International Championship) IRELAND - SCOTLAND 1-5 (0-1) Referee: Frederick Bye (England) Crowd: 15.000, Grosvenor Park, Belfast Goals: 0-1 Hamilton (43), 0-2 Walker (49), 0-3 Hamilton (70), 0-4 Hamilton (74), 0-5 Buick (76), 1-5 Milne (88) IRELAND: James Valentine Joseph Nolan-Whelan - William Kennedy Gibson [c], John Stanley Pyper - John Darling, Archibald Lee Goodall, Robert George Milne - James Campbell, Thomas Morrison, Andrew Gara, Alfred Kearns, Joseph Croft McAllen. SCOTLAND: Henry George Rennie (4/Hibernian) - Nicol Smith (11/Rangers) John Drummond (11/Rangers) - George Key (1/Heart of Midlothian) Albert Thoroughgood Buick [c] (1/Heart of Midlothian) John Tait Robertson (8/Rangers) - William McCartney (1/Hibernian) Robert Staig Walker (5/Heart of Midlothian) Robert Cumming Hamilton (7/Rangers) John Campbell (2) (10/Celtic) Alexander Smith (8/Rangers) Notes: Contemporary newspaper reports credit the fifth Scottish goal to John Campbell and the Irish goal to James Campbell, but official records indicate Buick for Scotland and Milne for Ireland. Despite exhaustive research it has proved impossible to determine the names of the two goalscorers with any degree of confidence. Scotland were "clad in striped shirts" according to the match report of The Irish News and Belfast Morning News (3rd March 1902) while The Belfast News-Letter (3rd March 1902) says: "their colours being white, with a blue stripe."
(Match 76) 15th March 1902 (19th Home International Championship) SCOTLAND - WALES 5-1 (1-0) Referee: Joseph Macbride (Ireland) Crowd: 5.284, Cappielow Park, Greenock Goals: 1-0 Robertson (38), 2-0 Buick (47), 3-0 Smith (50), 4-0 Walker (55), 4-1 Morgan-Owen (nk), 5-1 Campbell (88) SCOTLAND: Henry George Rennie (5/Hibernian) - Henry Hogg Allan (1/Heart of Midlothian) John Drummond (12/Rangers) - Hugh Wilson (2) (3/3rd Lanarkshire Rifle Volunteers) Albert Thoroughgood Buick (2/Heart of Midlothian) John Tait Robertson (9/Rangers) - John Campbell (2) [c] (11/Celtic) Robert Staig Walker (6/Heart of Midlothian) Robert Cumming Hamilton (8/Rangers) Alexander McMahon (6/Celtic) Alexander Smith (9/Rangers) WALES: Leigh Richmond Roose - Horace Elford Blew, Robert Morris - Maurice Pryce Parry, John Leonard Jones [c], William James Jones - William Henry Meredith, Llewelyn Griffiths, Hugh Morgan-Owen, Richard Morris, Joseph Owens. Notes: It has proved impossible to find the time of the Welsh goal scored by Morgan-Owen. The newspaper reports suggest it came soon after Scotland's fourth goal. For example, on 17th March 1902 The Belfast News-Letter says: "After this [Scotland's fourth goal] the Welshmen got an innings, and Morgan-Owen capped a fine piece of individual play by beating Rennie with a straight shot."
(Match 77) 3rd May 1902 (19th Home International Championship) ENGLAND - SCOTLAND 2-2 (0-2) Referee: James Torrans (Ireland) Crowd: 15.000, Villa Park, Aston (Aston became part of the city of Birmingham in 1911) Goals: 0-1 Templeton (3), 0-2 Orr (28), 1-2 Settle (65), 2-2 Wilkes (67) ENGLAND: William George - Robert Crompton, George Molyneaux - Albert Wilkes, Frank Forman, Albert Edward Houlker - William Hogg, Stephen Bloomer [c], William Edwin Beats, James Settle, John Thomas Cox. SCOTLAND: Henry George Rennie (6/Hibernian) - Nicol Smith (12/Rangers) John Drummond (13/Rangers) - Andrew Aitken [c] (2/Newcastle United) Alexander Galloway Raisbeck (3/Liverpool) John Tait Robertson (10/Rangers) - Robert Bryson Templeton (1/Aston Villa) Robert Staig Walker (7/Heart of Midlothian) Robert Smyth McColl (12/Newcastle United) Ronald Orr* (1/Newcastle United) Alexander Smith (10/Rangers) Notes: This was the replayed match after the tragedy of the Ibrox disaster on 5th April 1902, during the Home International Championship match between Scotland and England (see Scotland Unofficial Matches). At a meeting of the FA Council on 19th April 1902 a resolution, proposed by the chairman, conveying sympathy to the Scottish FA was unanimously approved. It was also agreed that the first match should count as unfinished, it should be replayed on 3rd May 1902 and that the replay should count as a Full International. It was also proposed that: 1) a Relief Fund should be set up 2) the FA to grant £500 to the fund 3) all clubs to be asked to play a match on or before 3rd May in aid of the fund and 4) the replayed match should be for the benefit of the fund. This was agreed to by the Scottish FA on 22nd April 1902. Scotland won the home title for the ninth time outright - plus two shared with England.
(Match 78) 9th March 1903 (20th Home International Championship) WALES - SCOTLAND 0-1 (0-1) Referee: Fred Kirkham (England) Crowd: 11.000, Arms Park, Cardiff Goal: 0-1 Speedie (25) WALES: Robert Owen Evans - Horace Elford Blew, Charles Richard Morris [c] - Maurice Pryce Parry, Morgan Maddox Morgan-Owen, Thomas Davies - William Henry Meredith, Walter Martin Watkins, Arthur Grenville Morris, Richard Morris, Robert Atherton.
