Romania - List of Women Champions

The first official tournament was the Cupa Libertatea in 1990, won by ICIM Brașov and apparently also used to determine the twelve entrants for the top level Divizia A in the first ever league season, 1990/91.
Before, various regional tournaments were held, such as a championship in Bucharest in 1971/72, won by Venus București, and a zonal championship in 1987, won by ICIM Brașov (13 wins and 1 loss in 14 matches).
