Note: The match was abandoned at 108' due to floodlight failure. After some delay, it was announced that
the gold medal would be shared, and the players received gold medals on the pitch.
The following day, the organizing committee (after consulting FIFA) announced that the game should
be replayed on 29/10/75. However, the Brazilian delegation had already arranged to return to Brazil.
The Brazilians argued that a replay was impossible, as the Panamerican Games had already officially
closed, and because the players were amateurs, it was impossible to arrange extra leave to remain in
Mexico for a replay. The game was also temporarily interrupted for eight minutes during the first
period of extra time after a spectator entered the field waving a Mexican flag.
