National league: Five teams from the Ligue de Niamey (6 teams at 1st level, 8 at 2nd) suspended their activity in the national championship until March 24 in protest against the relegation of Zumunta AC. The teams concerned were: Olympique FC, Sahel SC, AS FAN, AS FNIS and Liberté FC Liberté later joined JS Ténéré as the 2 Niamey teams to take part in the 12-team championship. The Niamey league started its own 'Coupe des Sponsors' in July.
