The Nigerians arrived at Liverpool on 29th August, and left from Liverpool on 29th September. The squad consisted of 18 players picked from the best Nigerian teams, and was representative of the Nigerian Football Association. They played nine games against English amateur clubs and league selections. On hard grounds they preferred to play barefoot but wore boots on soft ground. To supplement post-war rationing in England, the team brought their own supply of food, including yams, rice, peppers, and shrimps. 31- 8 Crosby Marine FC 2-5 Nigeria 3- 9 Bishop Auckland Bishop Auckland FC 5-2 Nigeria 8- 9 Leytonstone Leytonstone FC 2-1 Nigeria 10- 9 Ilford Isthmian League 5-1 Nigeria 14- 9 Walton-on-Thames Corinthian League 2-2 Nigeria 17- 9 East Dulwich Dulwich Hamlet FC 1-0 Nigeria 21- 9 Wealdstone Athenian League 8-0 Nigeria 24- 9 Bromley Bromley FC 1-3 Nigeria 28- 9 Liverpool South Liverpool FC 2-2 Nigeria
