Rankings and Club Name Information.

Unbeaten

The only team to ever win the Mitropa Cup unbeaten was First Vienna FC in 1931; in fact they won all their six matches.

Furthermore, Hungária FC were eliminated in the semifinals in 1927 without having lost a match; they were disqualified for an irregular player position.

Finally, both SK Admira and Genova FBC 1893 were yet to lose a match when both were disqualified in their quarterfinal in 1937.

Participations

The only team to have played in all tournaments 1927-1939 is SK Slavia Praha, who entered all 13 (but have a relatively poor record). The teams who participated in more than half the tournaments are:

13 SK Slavia Praha
12 AC Sparta Praha (missed 1928)
11 Újpesti FC (missed 1928, 1931)
10 Hungária FC (missed 1930, 1932, 1939)
 9 Ferencvárosi FC (missed 1927, 1929, 1931, 1933)
 8 First Vienna FC (missed 1927, 1928, 1934, 1938, 1939)
 7 SK Admira (Wien) (missed 1929, 1930, 1931, 1933, 1938, 1939)
   AS Ambrosiana Inter (missed 1927, 1928, 1929, 1931, 1932, 1937)
   Juventus FC (missed 1927, 1928, 1930, 1936, 1937, 1939)
   SK Rapid (Wien) (missed 1931, 1932, 1933, 1937, 1938, 1939)

Note that Austria was excluded in 1938 and 1939, and Italy in 1927 and 1928.

Domestic Ties

Clubs from the same country were kept apart in the draws; so only twice clubs from one country (and in fact city) had to play each other: in the 1931 final, First Vienna FC proved too strong for Wiener AC, and in the 1939 final, Újpesti FC prevented a record third win by Ferencvárosi FC.

Head-to-head Records

The four major countries established the following head-to-head records among each other (where the numbers indicated how often a team from a country progressed against a team from the other):

Austria 12- 8 Czechoslovakia
Austria 9- 9 Hungary
Austria 10- 6 Italy [Admira-Genova quarterfinal 1937 not included]
Czechoslovakia 9- 9 Hungary
Czechoslovakia 10- 8 Italy [Slavia-Juventus semifinal 1932 not included]
Italy 11- 6 Hungary
The totals (each country against the other three):

Austria 31-23 others
Italy 25-26 others
Czechoslovakia 27-29 others
Hungary 24-29 others
Only Austria can boast a positive overall balance as well as not having a negative balance against any other country.

The three minor countries established the following records against the top-4 (apart from the abandoned competition in 1940 they never met each other):

Romania 1-2 Hungary
Romania 1-2 Italy

Switzerland 0-2 Austria
Switzerland 1-1 Czechoslovakia
Switzerland 0-1 Hungary
Switzerland 0-2 Italy

Yugoslavia 0-1 Austria
Yugoslavia 1-3 Czechoslovakia
Yugoslavia 0-3 Hungary
Yugoslavia 0-1 Italy
This gives the following overall records:

Austria 34-23 others
Italy 30-27 others
Czechoslovakia 31-31 others
Hungary 30-30 others
Romania 2- 4 others
Switzerland 1- 6 others
Yugoslavia 1- 8 others
              129-129
Note that the two domestic finals as well as the two ties in which both teams were disqualified are not included.
