The Second División "B" was created in Mexico since the season 1982-83 as intermediate league between the Segunda División and the Tercera División, except the inaugural season, the winners and the runners-up were promoted to Segunda División "A" and the last two teams were relegated to Tercera División; after the season 1993-94 it was dissolved.
