MSG Prime Minister's Cup

This tournament can be seen as a successor of the Melanesia Cup, held on seven occasions between 1988 and 2000.
MSG abbreviates Melanesian Spearhead Group, an intergovernmental group formed by four independent Melanesian states (Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Vanuata) and a pro-independence alliance of politial parties in New Caledonia.
