Participants: Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu The proposed Tri-Nations tournament will be played in a home and away format. Scheduled for early 2003. Fiji and New Caledonia not included due to their stance on security issues in the Solomon Islands. Fiji latter announced that it will participate if the tournament is played in Vanuatu or PNG. NB: apparently organised as substitute for the Melanesia Cup 2002.
