Kenya - List of Women Champions


In 1986, a women football team called Eastlanders was founded; four other teams were formed in the mid-eighties: Nairobi City Council, Standard Chartered Bank, Utalii College and National Youth Service (NYS); also Nyayo Stars from Kakamega and Eregi Teachers College existed in this period. These teams participated in the annual Nairobi International Show football competitions for women. The Kenya Women's Football Association was estabished in 1993. Women teams in the ninetees participated in regional tournaments; a nationwide league started in 1998.
