All the Israeli players who scored own goals were defensive players. The first own goal scored in a game of Israel, on 19/10/1966, was also the fastest one. It was scored by the stopper Yeshaayahu Schwager in the second minute of the game. The Israeli left defender Moshe Glam is the only Israeli who scored 2 own goals in international games. Moreover, he did it in a difference of less than 3 months. Another negative record was achieved by the Yaron Adiv, who scored an own goal in his debut. Michael Baur from Austria is the only player who scored both a regular goal and an own goal in the same game. He scored the own goal in the 6th minute of the World Cup 2002 qualifying match between Austria and Israel, held on 28/03/2001. It took him only other 8 minutes to equalize. Zahi Armeli and Shlomi Arbeitman hold a record of 3 goals in their debut (see hat-tricks). Other 6 players scored 2 goals in their debut. The defender Yaron Adiv was the only Israeli player who scored an own goal in his debut. He did it in the 16th minute of the friendly against Netherlands Olympic on 15/02/1983 (see own goals). There were 20 occasions when 3 or more international goals were scored by the same Israeli player. 3 players did it more than once: Yehoshua Feigenbaum (3 times), Yossi Benayoun and Mordechai Spiegler (2 times), who is also the only Israeli player who scored 4 goals on the same game (4-0 over USA on 25/09/1968). Moreover, Spiegler scored his 4 goals in 20 minutes (70, 80, 87, 90)! In the Olympics qualifying match against Taiwan, held on 23/03/1988 (9-0), 2 players scored hat-tricks: Nir Levin and Shalom Tikva. The 3 goals of Levin were scored in 8 minutes (58, 60, 66), the fastest hat-trick for Israel national team. On the other hand, the hat-trick of Spiegler in the Olympic qualifying match against Ceylon, held on 17/03/1968, is apparently the slowest one. Spiegler needed 73 minutes to score his 3 goals (12, 60, 85). Shlomi Arbeitman and Zahi Armeli scored hat-tricks on their debuts.
