Indian Olympic team tour of Europe 1948

The squad of 17 players was selected on 7th May, and was 
scheduled to leave for England on 6th June.

The Indians played barefoot when possible, but wore boots 
on soft ground or in rain.

Note: in their Olympic match vs France, eight Indians played 
  without boots. After going 1-0 down in the first half, India
  dominated the second half. They earned two penalty kicks, 
  one of which was missed and the other saved by the French
  goalkeeper, before France scored the winning goal in the 
  last minute.
