Both games were played at Estadio Olímpico de la Universidad Central de Venezuela in Caracas, Venezuela. The tournament was organized by Instituto de Previsión Social del Periodista de Venezuela. Originally, Vasco da Gama (Brazil) had been invited to the tournament, but they were prevented from the trip by a law in Brazil. Finally, the organisers tried to invite to Soviet Union, whose team was in Brazil, but they did not travell to Caracas.
