GAFA Championship

Participants (14):

Great Argonauts	(Accra)
Great Olympics (Accra)
Standfast (Accra)
Mysterious Dwarfs (Cape Coast)
Venomous Vipers (Cape Coast)

Evertons (Obuasi)
Hearts of Oak (Obuasi)
Asante Kotoko (Kumasi)
Cornerstones (Kumasi)
Dynamos (Kumasi)
Evergreens (Kumasi)

This was the inaugural attempt to organise a national league,
for which the above 14 clubs were invited. However, it was
boycotted by the 4 Kumasi clubs (Asante Kotoko, Cornerstones,
Dynamos and Evergreens), which were then suspended by the
GAFA (Ghana Amateur Football Association). The league thus
started with the 10 remaining clubs, all from the southern
part of the country. The 4 rebellious clubs succeeded into
getting other clubs to join them, until eventually only two
were left, Hearts of Oak (Accra) and Eleven Wise (Sekondi),
which were declared gold and silver medalists respectively.
