The Faroe Islands finished with three points and a goal difference of -23 (three goals for, 26 goals against). Yugoslavia finished first in the group, but FIFA and UEFA banned Yugoslavia from competitive football on 31 May 1992 as a result of sanctions imposed by the United Nations due to the civil war in Yugoslavia. Denmark, runners-up in Group 4, took Yugoslavia's position in the final tournament. Denmark won the 1992 European Championships. Notes: On 8 December 1991, the qualifying draw for the 1994 World Cup in the United States took place in Madison Square Gardens, New York. The Faroe Islands were allocated to UEFA Group 4.
