England-Hungary matches 1908-2022

The Mighty Magyars were the first continental side to inflict a home loss on England when Hidegkuti, Puskás and Bozsik scored six within the first sixty minutes at Wembley in November 1953. Six months later, the Aranycsapat even found the target seven times to register the highest ever win by any side over England to date, literally leaving the Britons at sixes and sevens.
After their fourth successive win in the fixture, at the 1962 World Cup, the Hungarians had to wait for more than sixty years, in which they faced England in fifteen matches, drawing three and losing the remaining dozen, before defeating the Three Lions twice within a fortnight, recording the highest ever away win over England by a continental side in the process; before them, only Scotland had once managed a four-goal away win (5-1) against their Auld Enemy, nearly a century earlier, in March 1928.
