NB: the referee, Luis Endara, frightened by the aggressive behaviour of
the home support (Portoviejo is the capital of Manabí), had left the
stadium and there was no agreement on his substitution; the directors
of Guayas suggested that the Congreso de Fútbol del Torneo would
declare two champions or set a new data for the match; when no
agreement was reached and the hour late, Guayas withdrew from the
field and left the matter in the hands of the Congreso, which then
decided that Manabí were champions as Guayas had withdrawn from the field.
