NB: top-6 teams (England, Poland, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain

an equal record)) qualified for World Youth Cup 1981 in Australia.
After the Netherlands declined participation, West Germany
(9th of this European championship) travelled to Australia
instead and won the tournament.
