The First Round - The Second Leg:
 
The return match was not played because of the withdrawal from the Hallescher FC Chemie
after a hotel fire in the night from September 28 to 29, 1971 in Eindhoven (HOL).
The young forward Wolfgang Hoffmann was killed in this tragedy and other players
from the Hallescher FC Chemie were seriously injured in that night but some of them
helped other guests of the hotel "Silveren Seepaerd" to get rescued.
