Denmark - List of Women Champions

Unofficial championships were held since 1960, when BK Femina defeated Køge BK 4-1 in the final of a knockout competition. BK Femina remained the dominating club in both indoor and outdoor tournaments organised by the DKFU (Dansk Kvinde Fodbold Union), which last held such a competition in 1971, when Skovlunde IF defeated Billum IF 3-0 in the final of a tournament with over 200 teams.
The official federation, DBU (Dansk Boldspil-Union), took over in 1972, but in the first season, the regional federations failed to meet the deadline to name their champions, and so the first national playoff between the regional champions, with a one-legged final, was held in 1973.
A league was set up in 1975, first in two groups whose winners played off for the title over two legs, before a nationwide league tournament was inaugurated in 1981.
