This game was to inaugurate the Cocodrilos Stadium as Caracas FC's home ground. From the 1986 championship 1986 until the Torneo Clausura 2004, Caracas FC always played at Estadio Brígido Iriarte in Caracas. Now, Caracas FC are the first and only professional team to own its stadium in Venezuela. The match also served to celebrate the retirement of Ceferino Bencomo, who played for Caracas FC for 13 years.
