Due to a reorganization on AFA tournaments structure, many clubs from Second Level were relegated to Third Level for the 1950 season. San Telmo, 1949 Third Level champions, were not promoted and the other Third Level clubs were all relegated to the Fourth Level, a division that was started in 1950.
In 1950 the structure of AFA tournaments was reorganised. A new Second Level named Primera B was created. Several teams which competed in Second Level in 1949 were relegated to the Third Level, now renamed Segunda División. The new Third Level was formed with the teams relegated from the Second Level in 1949, and San Telmo, 1949 Third Level Champions.
