European Tour of the "Combinado del Pacífico" 1933-34


A team called "Combinado del Pacífico" toured Europe from September 1933 to February 1934.
The team was a combination of Peruvian and Chilean players, mostly internationals.  The
majority were Peruvian, and the squad was dominated by players from Universitario, with
reinforcements from Alianza Lima, Atlético Chalaco, and Colo-Colo.  The European press reported
the team under various names, for example "South American Team", "Peru-Chile XI", "All-Pacific".

Some sources report that Lolo Fernández was the top-scorer, with 48 goals.

Astengo, Denegri, Galindo, Maquilón, and Saldarriaga were part of the Peru squad at the
1929 South American Championship.
Astengo, Denegri, de Souza Ferreyra, A.Fernández, Galindo, Maquilón, Pacheco,
Valdivieso, and Villanueva were part of the Peru squad at the 1930 World Cup.
Arce, Denegri, A.Fernández, T.Fernández, Tovar, Valdivieso, and Villanueva were
part of the Peru squad at the 1935 South American Championship.
Eduardo Schneberger was part of the Chile squad at the 1935 South American Championship.
A.Fernández, T.Fernández, Tovar, Valdivieso, and Villanueva were part of the Peru
