team PSV (11:0) and was suspended for 2 weeks for insulting a referee.
- In the match on November 17, 1940 PSV - Harthau he broke his ankle and missed 4 months
- After the match on March 3, 1942 PSV – VfB Leipzig Helmchen suspended for unsportsmanlike
conduct for 5 months
- In 1941-1944 Erwin missed a total of about 120 games of PSV
- According to the article in "Schleswig-Holsteinische Volkszeitung" on June 23, 1951,
Helmchen scored 2120 goals in over 1300 games (including 415 penalties). High likely
the goals for junior teams are included in this sum. In the farewell game on June 23,
1951 VfB Lübeck - TB Harburg 3:2 Helmchen scored one goal.
