San Martin (San Juan) Daniel Garnero (also in the season Darío Franco (round 1-24)) Notes (1) Argentinos Juniors wasn’t promoted due to not having the necessary number of members to play in the First Level, and neither a field in order. (2) The tournament was interrupted due to a player’s strike and later abandoned. AFA decide to give back places in the First Level to the last relegated teams: Atlanta and Ferrocarril Oeste. (3) In spite of its second place, Quilmes won the promotion because the original winner, Newell's Old Boys, was deducted 10 points and lost the championship due to an incentive´s affaire with some Excursionistas´ players. The punishment was cancelled at the end of 1963 season and Newell´s was finally promoted by AFA. (4) Even though they finished on first place, weren’t promoted due to the controversial Reclassification Tournament, played between the best Second Level and the worst First Level teams. Their places were taken by other Second Level teams. That system only survived four seasons (1967-1970).
