Information is prepared as follows: - name of the region (Comunidad Autónoma) in its official language (either Spanish, Catalan, Basque or Galician) and, if different, in English - population (January 1, 2008; rounded to thousands) - regional totals of presences in Primera División and League champions. - for all clubs: in the first column, seasons played by each club in Primera División from 1928-29 to 2009-10 (note 1936-37, 1937-38 and 1938-39 not played). In brackets, Spanish League championships won by the club from 1928-29 to 2008-09. - list of other teams of the region having played in Second Division (but never in First Division) (up to and including 2008/09) At the bottom of the page, statistical tables by regions.
