    In 2004 rules changed and a preliminary list of 35 eligible players was established by FIFA; then

    Since the Confederations Cup was made official by FIFA in 1997, three
    awards are given: Golden Ball (for the best player), Golden Shoe (for the
    topscorer) and Fair Play (for a national team).  In the first two editions,
    not officially recognized by FIFA, there were also awards for best player
