Before the 2019 African Nations Cup, France Football published a special edition "Légendes Africaines Top 30". Similar to the Ballon d'Or poll 43 juries (from 42 African countries and France) sent their votes. Eligible players came from a pre-determined list of 30 players. Each jury chose their top 5 players, and points were awarded as follows: 6-4-3-2-1 The 43 voters were from: Algeria, Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Chad, Cote d'Ivoire, DR Congo, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Liberia, Libya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritania, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Săo Tomé and Principe, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and France.
