Círculo de Periodistas Deportivos (Association of Sports Journalists) chooses the best athlete in many sports. The name of the award is "Olimpia de Plata" (Silver Olympia); therefore there is a winner for every sport. The best of the year wins the "Olimpia de Oro" (Gold Olympia). It was the only award between 1954 and 1969. Olimpia de Platino (Platinum Olympia) was chosen among all "Olimpias de Oro" in 2000. Olimpia del Bicentenario (Bicentennial Olimpia) was chosen in each sporting discipline on the occasion of the 200 years of the May Revolution. Special Mentions mentions remember athletes for some historical reason.
Only the award-winning footballers are included here.
